When you arrive, a member of our office will welcome you and assist with transportation to and from your lodging. A journey to Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), from where you can observe the Kathmandu valley and take in the backdrop of a wonderful sunset, will be offered after an orientation/briefing session in the evening. Spend the night in a hotel.

Visit Guhyeshwari Temple after visiting Pashupatinath, the most revered Hindu shrine in Nepal and one of the most important Shiva shrines, which is situated on the banks of the Bagmati River. Afterwards, travel 5 kilometers to Budhanilkantha (Bishnu Sleeping Temple), which is to the northeast of Kathmandu Valley. The rest of the day should be spent packing and making any last-minute purchases. Spend the night in a hotel.

Drive to the domestic airport after breakfast to catch an early-morning flight to Nepalgunj. After spending some time in Nepalgunj and having lunch, you’ll take a flight in the evening to Simikot. Spend the night in a Simikot hotel.

After breakfast in the morning, take a helicopter from Simikot to Hilsa. Drive from the border to Taklakot (Purang) after that. The place where you’ll spend the night is Taklakot (3800m).

You will have time to yourself to get accustomed to Taklakot after breakfast at the hotel. You can take a stroll to observe the neighborhood market. Taklakot market is the last stop to search if you’ve forgotten anything for your tour.

The region around Purang is referred to as the “rain shadow” (or “precipitation shadow“) because the Himalayan mountains protect it from monsoon rains. The only access point for visitors to Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, two nearby Hindu holy sites, is through Purang. Stay the night at Purang.

Drive to Mansarovar by bus after breakfast. As we travel to the holy region around Lake Mansarovar and Mount Kailash, this is the most anticipated day. Today, we’ll spend the night in Chiu Gompa, which is just 70 kilometers from Taklakot and situated close to Lake Mansarovar. You’ll see Mount Kailash for the first time today while traveling to the lake. You can locate Rakshas Taal (Lake of the Demons also known as Ravana Taal), a sizable, lovely lake with water that is turquoise blue, on the left side of the road.

Your guesthouse will be just a short stroll from the Mansarovar Lake. You can visit the lake at night to witness how lovely it is lit up by the moon. The holy lake’s nighttime scenery is associated with a variety of legends and stories that visitors may independently discover. Even though it is safe to venture out after midnight, it is advised that you stick with your group and have one of your guides or sherpas by your side for support.

The morning will be spent with free time at the lake for Holy Bath (outside of the lake). After visiting the Tsugompa Milerapa cave monastery and the Kailash vista, the process continues with puja, Havana work, meditation, and spiritual exercises. Drive 40 kilometers (approximately one hour) to Darchen(4560m) after lunch.

After breakfast, a quick excursion to Yamdwar. The Kailash Parikrama has now begun. All pilgrims go on their first day’s walk toward Dhiraphuk after visiting Yamdwar (which is 12km trek). It will take five to six hours. While traveling, take in the peace of nature, the sounds of a rushing river, and the sight of Nandi Kailash. Dhiraphuk offers a view of Mt. Kailash’s North Face. There are many revered kailash landscapes all around Mount Kailash. Spend the night at a local guest home after a long and busy day.

Breakfast in the morning, then a second-day Parikrama from Dhiraphuk to the Dolma La pass (5620m), then on to Zuthulphuk (4790m). Every pilgrim embarks on the most important and challenging part of their journey on this particular day. The walk starts out with a difficult ascent to the Dolma La High Pass (5620m), which is located approximately 6-7 kilometers distant, followed by a steep descent to the valley below through Gaurikunda. The remaining 3–4 hours will be spent walking to Zuthulphuk. After completing the toughest section of the journey, you can rest for a little with a lovely cup of tea or some noodles in one of the nearby small tea shops before going on to Zuthulphuk, where you can see the East Face of Mt. Kailash. Spend the night at the guesthouse Zuthulphuk.

Trek from the Zuthulphuk monastery to Chongdo after breakfast to finish the Kailash Parikrama. Finally, travel to Taklakot/Hilsa with unforgettable experiences and lovely memories. Visit the Hilsa Hotel for the night.

From Hilsa, take a helicopter to Simikot, then, if the weather and time permit, fly by fixed wing to Nepalgunj. Arrive in Nepalgunj, and then take a transport from the airport to the hotel.

You will receive a certificate of completion from Nepal Challenge Trek after breakfast. The 12-day vacation will come to an end when you are transported from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu by overland means.
