One of the most famous trekking routes in Nepal’s Khumbu Himalaya is the Everest Renjo La Pass trek. Compared to other passes like Congmala and Gokyo Cho la Pass Trek, Everest Renjo la Pass Trekking is one of the simpler hiking and climbing routes in the Everest region.

The Everest Khumbu High Pass (Renjo La) Trek is located between Thame Village and Gokyo Valley, Blue Lakes, and Fifth Lakes in the Khumbu Himalaya on the route to the Tibetan border.
Early-morning flights from Kathmandu to Lukla Hillary Airport are followed by an ascent to the Sherpa city of Namche, which has now developed into an alpine resort serving the Everest region and providing access for trekkers from across the world.

Enjoy the most scenic 30minutes flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. As you reach Lukla start the Everest View Trek to Padding via Chaurikharka and Chilung. Overnight at Phakding (2640m).

Early in the morning after having breakfast trek to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar(3435m) via Jorasalle. From here trail slightly goes uphill to Sherpa capital Namche and you can see the first glance of Everest.

Today you may rest or hike through the village of Khunde and Khumjung. Khumjung is the largest village of Khumbu region. After having lunch you will hike back to Namche Bazaar.

Trek starts after breakfast in Namche and trails follows colorful prayer flags, with several shorten and Mani stones from Namche Gompa. Thame is a small monastery village, situated at the altitude of 3825m and the birth place of ten zing Norgay Sherpa first man to reach Everest summit with Edmund Hillary.

After morning breakfast trail leads you to Lung den village, the village of Lung den is only one settlement before cross Renjola pass. Keep continue your journey up to Lung den village, the trail with Tibetan Yak caravans because it is trading route to Namche to Tibet. Overnight at Lung den.

After having strong breakfast in Lung den. Trail slightly leads to Renjola pass and renjola pass is one of the easiest pass in the Khumbu Himalaya compare to others pass Chola and Congmala. Whole trail is zigzag with sandy ridges and arrive in Gokyo lakes overnight at guesthouse.

You can trek to Gokyo Peak which start early in the morning. The summit offers the extravagant vista of Cho You, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. While climbing down you can enjoy the view of Gokyo Lake. Overnight at teahouse.

After morning breakfast in Gokyo lakes, trail leads back to you Sherpa village of Dole via  Village of Pangla,machhermo,Luza and Lhabarma. Overnight at Lodge

Morning breakfast in Dole say good bye to Gokyo valley and trail directly drops to Khumjung village to Namche via Sherpa settlement village of Sanasa

The trail steeply goes down through Rhododendron and Pine forest to Jorasalle it will take about two hour and another 5 hour walk to Lukla via  Monju, banker, Phakding, Ghats Khola, Chaurikharka, Chheplung and arrival in Lukla and overnight at Guest house.

Trip Information

From Namche Bazaar, the trek takes a different route towards Thame and then continues on to the Renjo La Pass, which is situated at an altitude of 5,360 meters.
